General Information
Q: What does "Fieri" mean?
A: The Italian word "fiero" means "proud". Used in the plural, it signifies the collective pride that all members of Fieri feel -- whether they are Italian, of Italian descent, or are just proud of the traditions and culture that Fieri works to perpetuate.
Q: Where and when does Fieri DC meet?
A: On the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., Fieri DC members meet at the Casa Italiana, 595 1/2 Third Street, N.W., at Third and F Streets, near the Judiciary Square Metro station (on Metro's Red Line). An annual summer meeting is generally held on the Mall.

Membership
Q: Do I have to be of Italian origin to be a member of Fieri?
A: Fieri is open to ALL people interested in promoting and celebrating Italian culture.
Q: What are the benefits of my paid membership?
A: Membership in Fieri offers many benefits. Chief among them are: members-only discounted prices at all Fieri events, including the annual Opera Night gala; e-mail updates on upcoming events and announcements; networking opportunities; affiliation with other prominent Italian-American groups like the Order Sons of Italy in America, the National Italian American Foundation, the Italian Cultural Society, and many more; monthly meetings with refreshments and cultural presentations; monthly happy hours; a Fieri DC T-shirt (exclusively for new members); and membership in Fieri International, which offers discounts, networking opportunities, and much more.
Q: How much does it cost to be a member?
A: Membership costs $40 per year for individuals and $65 per year for couples. Contact our membership chair regarding rates for students and two-year or lifetime memberships.
Q: How long does the membership last?
A: Standard membership is for one year; discounted rates are available for two-year memberships.

Q: What is Festa Italiana?
A: Festa Italiana celebrates Italian-American culture and Italian-Americans' contributions to the Washington area. This year's festival will include live traditional Italian music, dancing, informative displays about Italy's Veneto region, raffles, and much more. And those joining in the festivities will be able to enjoy a wide variety of delicious Italian dishes and beverages, including fresh pizza, pasta, sausage and peppers, Italian sandwiches, and baked goods.
Q: How can I help with Festa Italiana?
A: Festa Italiana is seeking volunteers to help with public relations, ticket sales, raffle donations, logistics, and much more. Contact the Festa Italiana President to sign up.
